• The article describes the future plans for particle accelerators beyond the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) which is set to begin operations in 2008. Even before the LHC has come online, the scientific community has begun constructing the International Linear Collider (ILC) which will be able to smash electrons and positrons into one another almost as fast as the speed of light.
