  • The article reports on research, based on studies of adolescent smokers, showing that cigarette addiction happens faster than previously thought. A new theory suggests the braid quickly develops adaptations to counteract the effects of nicotine, and these adaptations create withdrawal symptoms when the nicotine leaves the body.
