  • Resumen
    • The article discusses the M2e protein segment on the influenza virus, which may lead to a universal vaccine for influenza and ending seasonal shots. Walter Fiers, molecular biologist at Ghent University in Belgium found the protein. The universal vaccine would provide lifelong immunity against influenza A, the most serious type. The world annual infection rate of the virus and the lives taken by past pandemics are offered. Fiers argues for the development of a nasal spray for quickest delivery. INSET: WALTER FIERS.
