This paper describes the Canonicus model, an object oriented user interface representation model with two main goals: i) to allow dialog component portability among different user interface tools and ii) to provide abstractions to separate clearly user interface designer and application programmer roles. Canonicus' main caracteristics, including generic and concret classes, and our experience in its implementation are presented.
