  • Superresolution microscopy has recently been making headlines again, not least because it was the breakthrough that spurred Eric Betzig, Stefan Hell, and William Moerner to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 2014. The number of superresolution technologies keeps increasing, along with an alphabet soup of acronyms that includes SIM, SPIM, STED, PALM, and STORM.
