  Tokio, como toda gran metrópolis, es un teatro que comienza su función en las primeras ho - ras de la madrugada y cierra el telón una vez avanzada la noche. A lo largo de este intervalo de tiempo, millones de personas transitan y ejercen sus rutinas diarias en un escenario que apenas cambia. Un espectáculo por el que es, en gran medida, conocido este rincón del mundo y cuyo personaje principal es un ente plural y si rostro: la colectividad. Sin embargo, existen momentos de relajación para sus actores: cenas solitarias en locales muy determinados, sepa - rados por sexos siguiendo una costumbre no escrita y descansando al lado de otros individuos muy semejantes a ellos mismos, sin siquiera notarlo, inmersos en sus propios problemas y situaciones personales. Cada día se repite esta segregación por géneros en los diversos restau - rantes de comida rápida y gyūdon . Refugios improvisados para miles de ejecutivos respon - sables de la eficiente marcha de la economía y la sociedad en esta parte de las islas, y cuya realidad es una imagen característica de la cultura actual de este país que merece ser analizada

  Tokyo, like any metropolis, is a drama that begins its performance in the ear - ly hours of the morning with a curtain which falls late into the night. During the in - tervening hours, millions of people go about their daily lives and errands in a rou - tine that hardly changes. A show which is largely known in this corner of the world and whose main character is a plural entity shown outwardly as: the community.

  However, there are moments of relaxation for its actors, solitary dinners in a very specific locale, segregated by sex following an unwritten custom, resting alongside other very similar individuals to themselves, without even noticing.

  All the while, they are immersed in their own problems and personal situations.

  Every day this gender segregation is repeated in the various restaurants and fast food gyūdon outlets. A makeshift shelter for thousands of executives responsible for the efficient functioning of the economy and society in this part of the islands, and the reality is a characteristic image of the current culture of this country that deserves to be analyzed
