  • Resumen
    • The article reports that worldwide urban and suburban sanitation services use 100 cubic kilometers of water, worldwide. Low-water-use toilets are recommended as a method of conserving some of this water. An experimental system installed in a Swedish housing project is discussed. The system separates urine, which is used as liquid farm fertilizer, and recycles excrement into fertilizer in a compost bin.
