  • This article discusses the development of mosquito repellents using piperidines, which are compounds similar to the active ingredient in black pepper. The use of an artificial neural network to compare different piperidines to the active chemicals in many insect repellents is described. The results from a test comparing piperidines to DEET, the most widely used insect repellent, are reported.
