    Este estudio comparativo, aplicado a investigaciones relacionadas con las jergas juveniles en Costa Rica, analiza el lenguaje juvenil de estudiantes universitarios desde tres áreas en común: campos semánticos, cambios semánticos y cambios de forma. Lo anterior, con la finalidad de esbozar esa visión global y enriquecedora del léxico de los jóvenes, el cual los representa como una comunidad lingüística con características peculiares y diferentes de otros grupos etarios.Esta investigación permite identificar una clasificación de los jóvenes con estereotipos que lo categorizan como un ente separado de la sociedad y que merece atención por parte de las instituciones académicas y gubernamentales.

    This comparative study, which is applied to other investigations related to youth jargon, analyzes the language of students at university level from three areas in common; semantic fields, semantic changes and changes of form. All this aims to sketch out a global and rich vision of the youngsters' language, which represents themselves a part of a linguistic community with peculiar features and different from the other age groups'.

    This investigation allows to identify youngsters with stereotypes which categorize themselves as a separate group from society that deserves attention from academic and governmental institutions.
