Programa Jóvenes Investigadores como promotor de la iniciación científica en la Universidad Nacional de Asunción

    La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar la contribución del Programa Jóvenes Investigadores, desarrollado en el marco de la Asociación de Universidades del Grupo Montevideo, como mecanismo impulsor de la investigación científica, así como relevar la percepción de los ex-participantes en las Jornadas Jóvenes Investigadores (JJI) respecto a la contribución del programa en la Investigación. La investigación  encuestó de manera aleatoria 52 jóvenes de entre aquellos que fueron seleccionados para representar a sus unidades académicas y a la Universidad Nacional de Asunción, en las Jornadas Internacionales llevadas a cabo entre los años 2007 al 2012. Los resultados refieren que el 51,9% de los encuestados es de sexo masculino y un 48,1% es de sexo femenino; mientras que un 42% tiene nivel de grado, un 40% tiene nivel de maestría y el 17% de los encuestados tienen nivel de doctorado. Asimismo, aquellos que desarrollan actividades laborales prioritariamente en el ámbito de las universidades realizan más docencia e investigación que quienes trabajan en otras áreas. La percepción de los ex participantes respecto a la utilidad, de las Jornadas Jóvenes Investigadores, según la escala de Likert, tuvo un valor promedio en la categoría De Acuerdo, con lo cual se puede inferir que existe una  contribución positiva del Programa JJI en la iniciación científica.

    The objective of the present research was to assess the Young Researchers Program´s contribution, developed within the framework of the Associations of Universities of the Montevideo Group, as a driving force for scientific research and to assess the insights of former participants of the Young Researchers Conference regarding the program`s contribution in research. The research selected randomly 52 young people among those chosen as representatives of their academic units as well as the National University of Asunción, to participate in International Conferences carried out between 2007 and 2012. The results indicate that 51.9% of the respondents are male and 48.1% are female; while 42% have a grade level, 40% have masters degrees and 17% of those surveyed have a doctorate level.Results throw significant differences (p=0,002 Chi-square test) among those working in universities versus those working in other institutions and perform teaching activities behaving the variable as expected meaning that those who work mainly in universities develop more teaching activities. Regarding researches differences are also important (p=0.02 Chi-square test) meaning that those stating to have the university as a main labor place develop more research activities than those working in other areas Perception of former participants related to the usefulness of the Young Researchers Program laid in numeral 4 (In Agreement) of Likert Scale, whereby can be inferred in a positive manner regarding the contribution of the Young Researchers Program´s in scientific initiation.
