It also has a pre-heater, a rotary kiln and an integrated cooler. In 2011 it increased CCM production and processing capacity from 14,000 tpa to 36,000 tpa. The rotary kiln has the capacity to produce over 50 tpd CCM.
The company is only targeting the CCM market. Commercial production from the new kiln started in January 2012 "being achieved with extremely positive results both from a technical/operational and product quality point of view," AMK's CEO Muzaffer Bayazit told IM at the time.
"The new investment will make it possible for us to further develop and produce new, more sophisticated CCM high purity grades with enhanced physical properties - such as increased specific surface areas up to 90m[superscript]2 /g - which will widen our current product portfolio," he added.
