    This month Kasia Patel's article on zircon trends ( pp32-35 ) shows how the ceramics sector is expanding, but also how the chemicals sector is the biggest growth market for this mineral. Zircon is under threat of substitution in many areas, but as Patel discovers, there are not many minerals which measure up satisfactorily against it.
