  • Resumen
    • "To date, no tender has been released," the source said, adding that there were rumours the APMDC may have postponed the mining tender as the company still owes vendors of the mineral allocations of ore under the price set following the last tender in 2011.

APMDC holds two barite tenders every three years, with the first calling for bids to mine the barite from the Mangampet mine in Andhra Pradesh, while the second calls for bids to buy and sell the material, either domestically or internationally.

"While new leases are going to come, existing players in the Indian barite industry will struggle to get their quotas as these were awarded by the previous administration. However, if the new government only favours new applicants, it might face opposition from the existing players. So there is still a lot of confusion, which could delay the tender further," she said.
