  • NODAC is a data reduction machine that through the use of plug-in logic packages and patchboards has a capability of moving onto any data reduction problem in a very short time. The machine is designed along dynamic principles to take full advantage of the capabilities of the IBM 704 computer. It consist of analog and digital sections interconnected by a converter unit through which conversions can be made in either direction at a current rate of 25,000 samples per second. It is currently in use on Station data reduction programs and as a various units are added to bring its capabilities up to the design standard, it will be able to handle these programs on decreasing time scales.
