    In this article, we will seek an opportunity to analyze the pages dedicated to the city of Mococa in the album Il Brasile and gli italiani, 1906, in order to develop a synthesis of images that represent the intentions of their choices and the relationships between the texts and images. In addition to enchant and illustrate, the photographic images also bring the cultural marks of the moment in which they were produced, strengthening the memory of what was recorded and should be remembered over time. We believe that these images are used as a means of bringing the concept of shared city in the period, by the local elite, at the same time that they reveal the importance of viewing to perceive/experience the city.

    Neste artigo, buscaremos uma possibilidade de análise das páginas dedicadas à cidade de Mococa no álbum Il Brasile e gli italiani, de 1906, no intuito de elaborar uma síntese das imagens que a representam, as intencionalidades de suas escolhas e as relações entre os textos e imagens. Além de encantar e ilustrar, as imagens fotográficas trazem também as marcas culturais do momento em que foram produzidas, fortalecendo a memória do que foi registrado e deveria ser lembrado ao longo do tempo. Acreditamos que as referidas imagens nos servem como meio de aproximação da noção de cidade compartilhada no período, pelas elites locais, ao mesmo tempo em que revelam a importância da visualização para se perceber/vivenciar a cidade.
