    El objetivo del siguiente trabajo es analizar el papel desempeñado por algunos intelectuales que se congregaron el año 1978 en el Grupo de Estudios Constitucionales, más conocidos como el “Grupo de los 24”. Su objetivo fue, por una parte, ejercer oposición y disputar públicamente el campo político-institucional que la dictadura cívico- militar buscaba implantar a través del proyecto constitucional, y por otra, ilustrar a la ciudadanía y remecer las conciencias de los chilenos, sobre el significado e importancia de la democracia y los conceptos de libertad, pluralismo yderechos humanos que el régimen de Augusto Pinochet estaba conculcando.

    The objective of this study is to analyze the role played by some intellectuals who formed in 1978 the Group of Constitutional Studies, better known as the "Group of 24". Its aim was, on the one hand, to exert opposition and publically dispute the political and institutional field in which the civil-military dictatorship sought to impleme nt through constitutional project, and secondly, illustrate to the public and agitate the conscience of Chileans, on the meaning and importance of the concepts such as democracy and freedom, pluralism and human rights that the regime of Augusto Pinochet was contravening.
