South Africa's Andalusite Resources is rumoured to be in takeover talks with industrial minerals giant Imerys.
Andalusite Resources is second only to Imerys in the anadalusite supply market and produces between 70-80% of South Africa's total output.
Imerys also manages a China-based subsidiary, Yilong Andalusite, which accounts for around 18% of global supply. This means that Imerys controls approximately 67% of the global market and Andalusite Resources 15%.
