Industry at variance over acidspar prices

  • China us maintaining its position as a cheaper source of acidspar, with deals for 97% CaF[subscript]2, wet filtercake material currently traded at $290/tonne, which is still lower than the Mongolian material at $305/tonne (DAP Naushaki) shipped into Russia.

    On the downstream side, aluminium fluoride (AlF[subscript]3 ) continues to remain in oversupply. This, coupled with a depressed fluorochemicals industry, means there is unlikely to be any upward influence on acidspar demand in the near term.

    Today, the price of metspar (min 85% CaF2, CIF, China to Holland) stands at between $290-$310/tonne.
