Los inuit, también conocidos como “esquimales” y que significa “seres humanos”, son uno de los pueblos indígenas que aún conservan muchas de sus antiguas tradiciones. Viviendo en perfecta simbiosis con la naturaleza han sabido aprovechar los escasos recursos que el Ártico les ofrece y se han convertido en la actualidad en la sociedad cazadora más avanzada del mundo. Conocer el pasado de los inuit nos permitirá entender mejor el presente y futuro de este pueblo, uno de los más afectados por el calentamiento global y la contaminación medioambiental que amenazan nuestro planeta.

Els inuit, també coneguts com a “esquimals” i que significa “éssers humans”, són un dels pobles indígenes que encara conserven moltes de les seves antigues tradicions. Vivint en perfecta simbiosi amb la naturalesa han sabut aprofitar els escassos recursos que l’Àrtic els ofereix i s’han convertit en l’actualitat en la societat caçadora més avançada del món.
Conèixer el passat dels inuit ens permetrà entendre millor el present i futur d’aquest poble, un dels més afectats per l’escalfament global i la contaminació mediambiental que amenacen el nostre planeta.

The Inuit, also known as “Eskimos” and meaning “human beings”, are one of the indigenous peoples who still retain many of their ancient traditions. They living in perfect symbiosis with nature have been able to take advantage of the scarce resources that the Arctic offers them and they have become the most advanced hunter society in the world.
Analyzing the past of the Inuit will allow us to better understand the present and future of this people, one of the most affected by global warming and environmental pollution that threatens our planet.
