A hemeroteca enquanto espaço documental, informacional e memorial

    This paper presents the periodicals room and its usual activities and tries to understand contexts and processes involved in the building of information flows elaborated from such settings. Underlying this initial proposal, we intended to highlight the ethnotexts in a journalistic language anchored by ‘discourse formations’ and ‘discourses’, by Michel Foucault. In this process, the study aims at registering the theoretical basis on the role of periodicals rooms as a space for memory, preservation and access to knowledge, attempting to understand and evoke the way through which the information space was constituted in the past. Through the research, we were able to verify the importance of the collections of in periodicals rooms as a research source and of the latter as a place of memory.

    Apresenta a hemeroteca e as práticas inerentes à mesma, de modo a buscar a compreensão de contextos e processos relacionáveis à construção dos fluxos informacionais elaborados a partir de tais conjuntos. Subjacente a essa proposta inicial teve-se a ambição de destacar os etnotextos, dentro de uma linguagem jornalística ancorada por ‘formações de discursos’ e ‘discursos’, por Michel Foucault. Nesse processo, o presente trabalho tem a finalidade de registrar o referencial teórico para a nossa reflexão sobre o papel da hemeroteca enquanto espaço de memória, preservação e acesso ao conhecimento, na tentativa de compreender e reconstituir a maneira pela qual o espaço informacional se configurou no passado. A pesquisa possibilitou verificar a importância dos acervos das hemerotecas como fonte de pesquisa e sua constituição como lugar de memória.
