Resumen de Fernando Yáñez de Figueroa, el arzobispo Pedro Tenorio y las pinturas trecentistas de la Granja de Mirabel en Guadalupe

El artículo profundiza en la figura de Fernando Yáñez de Figueroa, fundador de la orden de San Jerónimo y primer prior regular del Monasterio de Guadalupe. Su importante patronazgo artístico nos llevará a rastrear el entorno cultural del arzobispo Pedro Tenorio, bajo cuyo auspicio se desarrolló en Toledo a finales del siglo XIV un extraordinario foco de vanguardia del que indudablemente se benefició el prelado guadalupense. En este sentido finalizaremos planteando la intervención del taller toledano de Rovira y Starnina en las pinturas murales de la Capilla de la Magdalena de la Granja de Mirabel, probable empeño personal de Yáñez y uno de los escasos testimonios de pintura trecentista en la Castilla de principios del siglo XV.

This paper analyzes the figure of Fernando Yáñez de Figueroa, the founder of the Order of Saint Jerome and the first regular prior of the Monastery of Guadalupe. His artistic patronage would lead us towards the study of the cultural environment of the archbishop Pedro Tenorio. Thanks to the latter’s support, an extraordinary centre of the avant-garde arose in Toledo: a focal point that was undoubtedly beneficial for the prior of Guadalupe. At this respect, we would finish pointing out the hypothesis of the intervention of the Toletan workshop of Rovira and Starnina in the wall paintings of the Chapel of the Magdalena in the Granja (country house) of Mirabel. Probably, this was a personal creation by Yáñez and one of the few testimonies of the Trecento style painting in Castile at the beginning of the 15th century.
