Resumen de Across-wind load on rectangular tall buildings

This article looks at the calculation of across-wind response of structures. The focus is on the calculation of cross-wind response of rectangular buildings, which is not covered by Eurocode 1, Part 1-4 (BS EN 1991-1-4) (ref 1) or BS 6399-2 (ref2). With the advancement of building technology and an increasing number of architecturally driven designs involving more free-form geometry leading to tall, slender, lightweight, low-damping and aerodynamically sensitive building structures, this article presents a timely discussion on an important topic that could impact on structural design.
