Emigración ubetense en el siglo XVIII: el linaje Mesía en Chiloé

    El artículo trata de la descendencia de un emigrante natural de la ciudad de Úbeda, quien fue radicado en la lejana isla de Chiloé en tiempos de la colonia española americana y actualmente perteneciente a Chile. Se estudia el linaje en sus distintas ramas, proveyendo material genealógico e histórico que contribuye y relaciona a la sociedad pasada y actual de Chiloé con la capital de la histórica comarca de La Loma. En un lapso de dos siglos (1730-1930) se indican documentalmente más de doscientos cincuenta personas vinculadas a la estirpe.

    The article deals with the offspring of an immigrant from the city of Úbeda, who was based in the remote island of Chiloe in Spanish colonial times, currently belonging to Chile. The lineage is studied in its various branches, providing genealogical and historical material that contributes and relates the past and current society of Chiloé with the historic capital of the county of La Loma. There are more than two hundred fifty people recorded linked to the lineage, in a span of two centuries (1730-1930).
