    Se presentaron los resultados parciales del Proyecto Investigativo Institucional para el desarrollo de la competencia sociohumanista en los profesionales de la salud, que se ejecuta en la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Guantánamo desde 2015. Los procedimientos seguidos en esta investigación se corresponden con los de una investigación cualitativa en tanto permitieron definir y caracterizar la tríada funcional (Universidad de Ciencias Médicas, Dirección de Salud Pública y entes comunitarios) que favorece el desarrollo de la competencia sociohumanista. Mediante la investigación bibliográfica se precisó su definición y con la aplicación de otros métodos de investigación se alcanzó identificar el nivel en que se encuentra, estableciéndose el problema a resolver en cómo contribuir a desarrollarla, con lo que el objetivo quedó definido en diseñar alternativas para fortalecerla en las dimensiones que demanda el servicio de salud en la actualidad.

    Partial results of the Institutional Investigative Project were presented for the development of the socio-humanist competence in the professionals of health that it is executed in the University Of Medical Sciences Of Guantanamo from 2016. The procedures continued in this investigation belongs those of a qualitative investigation as long as it allowed defining and characterizing the functional triad that favors the development of the socio-humanist competence. By means of the bibliographical investigation was necessary its definition with the application of other investigation methods it was reached to identify the level, settling down the problem to solve in how to contribute to develop it, with what the objective was defined in designing alternatives to strengthen it, in the dimensions that it demands the service of health at the present time.
