    Desde cuando el fascismo apareció en el escenario político italiano, Mussolini intentó infundir en los ciudadanos la conciencia nacional y el sentido del Estado. Él, identificando la nación con el fascismo, siguió una sistemática obra de deslegitimación hacia los que estaban en contra del Partido, considerado el único y auténtico representante de la voluntad del país. A lo largo de la dictadura, el régimen procuró una fractura profunda entre la patria fascista y la patria de todos los italianos, llevando el pueblo hacia una sangrienta lucha fratricida, dividiendo el país en dos y decretando la "muerte de la patria".

    Since when Fascism appeared in the Italian political scenario, Mussolini tried to instill into the citizens the national consciousness and the sense of the State. He identified the nation with Fascism and started systematically to delegitimaze those who were against the PNF, considered the only authentic representative of the will of the Country. During the dictatorship, the regime created a deep rift between the fascist homeland and the homeland of all the Italians, leading the people to a bloody civil war, dividing the country in two opposite parts and sanctioning the "death of the homeland".
