The peasantry has been one of the socio-political agents less studied on researches about the opposition movement to Franco's dictatorship. So often, there has been a primacy of studies about rural regions where wage labour was predominant, the industrialization level was low and where the nation wasn't in dispute. Nevertheless, this paper focuses on the Catalan farmworkers, and especially it aims to point upon the attention of the historiography towards the role and experiences of those of them who fought against the dictatorship in Catalonia. Presumably, this should allow us to understand at least part of the complexities within those social groups on decline but politically mobilized who acted in a predominantly industrial society, which was not anymore the one they had known. If it is true that a subordination of the national to social question existed, it doesn't mean at all that nationalism hadn't been operating on the farmworkers' trade unionism since its birth.
