L'éducation comparée: mise en perspective historique d'un champ de recherche

    The historicisation of Comparative Education, undertaken by the article, is understood in a two-fold meaning. First, from the perspective of the history of science, the article contrasts the emergence of the grand programme of comparative social sciences at the end of the 1 8th century to the social and theorical challenges that are linked, at the end of the 20th century, with both globalisation processes and the world system paradigm. Second, the article is to be seen in the line of reasoning resulting from the so-called « socio-historical shift » in the general meta-scientific discourse in order to discuss these challenges in greater detail and on the basis of empirical evidence.

    La mise en perspective historique, ou « historisation », entreprise par l'article est entendue au sens double du terme. Premièrement, en adoptant un point de vue relevant de l'histoire des sciences, l'article oppose la naissance, vers la fin du XVIIIe siècle, du grand programme des sciences comparatives, aux défis social et théorique lancés, vers la fin du XXe siècle, tant par les processus de globalisation que par le paradigme du système mondial. Deuxièmement, l'auteur se place dans l'orientation tracée par le courant socio-historique dans les discours méta-scientifiques généraux, pour discuter plus en détail les problèmes liés à ces défis.
