Resumen de Estudio de los insectos asociados a un nuevo disturbio en café denominado chamusquina

  El disturbio de la Chamusquina, es un nuevo problema fitosanitario que afecta los brotes tiernos del cultivo de café de la Serranía de Minas del departamento del Huila. Ante el desconocimiento del agente causal, se realizo un estudio entomológico para determinar si los insectos se encontraban involucrados e este problema. Para esto, se realizaron muestreos de insectos con la aspiradora D-vac sobre arboles de café en fincas afectadas por el disturbio y recolecciones manuales de insectos sobre otras especies de plantas vecinas y brotes de café. De las muestras recolectadas, se seleccionaron 12 morfoespecies las cuales se repitieron en el 80% de estas. Las especies seleccionadas, se utilizaron en pruebas para la producción de síntomas de sobre brotes sanos de café y se efectuaron evaluaciones para estimar la proporción de brotes con lesiones de chamusquina. Los resultados obtenidos permitieron determinar que el agente causal de la chamusquina es un insecto perteneciente al orden Hemiptera, de la familia Miridae identificado como Monalonion velezangeli, siendo este, el primer reporte en el mundo de esta especie afectando arboles de cafeto. Adicionalmente, se realizaron evaluaciones preliminares para conocer la biología y hábitos d este insecto y se estableció el plan de manejo inicial en el campo.

  The disturbance of the Chamusquina, is a new plant health problem that affects the tender shoots of coffee cultivation of the Serrania de Minas department of Huila. Given the ignorance of the causal agent, an entomological study to determine whether the insects were involved in this problem. for this, samples were taken from insects with the vacuum D-vac on coffee trees in farms affected by the unrest and collections were made manuals on outbreaks of insects and other species of coffee plants nearby. Of the samples collected, 12 were selected morphospecies which were repeated in 80% of these. The selected species were used in tests to produce symptoms of outbreaks healthy coffee and evaluations were conducted to estimate the proportion of outbreaks with injuries chamusquina. The results revealed that the causal agent of the chamusquina is an insect belonging to the order Hemiptera, family Miridae identified as Monalonion velezangeli, this being the first report in the world of this kind affecting coffee trees. In addition, preliminary evaluations were conducted to learn about the biology and habits of this insect and established the management plan starting in the field.
