The Senate Health Committee recently passed the Mental Health Reform Act of 2016, which would help expand access to care for the 44 million individuals in the United States who have a mental illness (http://1.usa.gov/1UsDLAR).
“One in 5 adults in this country suffers from a mental illness, and nearly 60% aren’t receiving the treatment they need,” health committee chair Lamar Alexander (R, Tenn), a cosponsor of the bill, said in a statement (http://1.usa.gov/1RK7BgD).
