    Tanto en Leibniz como en Ortega, el nexo dialéctico entre los conceptos de actualidad y posibilidad constituye uno de los centros de la ontología modal. Para justificar esta tesis, se realiza aquí un análisis de ello mediante una comparación de las posiciones metafísicas de ambos filósofos. Al hacerlo, se ha tenido en cuenta la exposición crítica que Ortega hiciera de Leibniz al respecto. El propósito de este esfuerzo no es únicamente el de aclarar el sentido y las relaciones de los dos sistemas filosóficos, sino además el de lograr una comprensión más matizada de la realidad y la razón.

    The dialectical nexus between the concepts of actuality and possibility is central to the modal ontology of both Leibniz and Ortega. To justify this thesis, an analysis of such a relationship is attempted here by comparing the metaphysical positions of the two philosophers. In doing so, the critical exposition of Leibniz's pertinent views, as carried out by Ortega, has been taken into account. The purpose behind that endeavor has been not only to cast some light on the sense of each of the two philosophical systems and their connections, but also to come to a more nuanced understanding of reality and reason.
