    El Castillo de Belmonte es una de las construcciones defensivas más interesantes de España, por su historia, los personajes a los que está ligado y la propia calidad constructiva, material y espacial. Se analizan en este documento los hechos más sobresalientes de su pasado y, sobre todo, la respuesta dada por la Propiedad, Instituciones y técnicos, para su restauración. Se analizan las acciones llevadas a cabo por los técnicos responsables de las obras, el proceso seguido en la redacción de proyectos y la relación con las entidades competentes. Al tratarse de un Castillo-Palacio, se pone especial énfasis en aquellos elementos que lo distinguen del resto de las arquitecturas fortificadas, como son sus salones, el color, los estucos, las ventanas y, sobre todo, estructuras de maderas de alfarjes y cubiertas, restauradas en su totalidad mediante el empleo fundamentalmente, de materiales y técnicas tradicionales. Finalmente, se indican las medidas “modernas” para permitir la visita y puesta en valor y el respeto a los principios de reversibilidad, no falso histórico y autenticidad expresiva

    Belmonte Castle is one of the most interesting defensive constructions of Spain, its history, the characters that is bound and the actual construction quality, material and space. Discussed in this paper the salient facts of his past and, above all, the answer given by the Owner, and technical institutions, for restoration. It analyzes the actions taken by the technicians responsible for the works, the process followed in the drafting of projects and the relationship with the competent entities. Being a Castle-Palace, special emphasis is placed on those elements that distinguish it from other fortified architectures, such as loungues, color, stucco, windows and especially wooden structures and decks alfaljes, restored in its entirety by using mainly traditional materials and techniques. Finally, indicate the measures “modern” to allow the visit and appreciation and respect for the principles of reversibility, not false historical and expresive authenticity
