Resumen de La función investigación en el Instituto de Zoología Agrícola de la Facultad de Agronomía de la Universidad Central de Venezuela, Maracay: una visión desde los protagonistas

La historia de la humanidad ha reconocido a la luz de las disciplinas, las bondades que han caracterizado los valiosos aportes de la investigación en el desarrollo y evolución de ésta. A tal efecto, los factores del contexto nacional como internacional dan un amplio panorama que permita ubicar y resaltar las huellas que ésta ha producido e impactado en áreas de índole social, política y económica en todos los niveles. El propósito de este estudio fue Interpretar el desempeño en la función investigación del personal académico que labora a nivel pregrado en el Instituto de Zoología Agrícola a través de la opinión de los docentes. A tal efecto, El objeto de estudio se abordó epistemológicamente con base al paradigma humanista interpretativo del método hermenéutico. Se utilizó la entrevista no estructurada como técnica y el guión de entrevista como instrumento de recolección de información. El procesamiento fue mediante la categorización, estructuración, contrastación, y teorización, etapas propias del proceso de la investigación con enfoque cualitativo. Entre los hallazgos se tiene que los informantes clave consideran que en la universidad debe producirse conocimiento y los docentes y estudiantes deben ser capaces de generar, interpretar, criticar dicho conocimiento y proponer alternativas. Una educación universitaria no tiene significado si no produce conocimiento, es decir, si no investiga.

The history of humanity has recognized in the light of the disciplines, the benefits that have characterized the valuable contributions of research in the development and evolution of it. To that end, the factors of the national and international context give a wide panorama that allows to locate and to highlight the traces that this has produced and impacted in areas of social, political and economic nature in all the levels. The purpose of this study was to interpret performance in the research function of academic staff working at the undergraduate level in the Institute of Agricultural Zoology through the opinion of teachers. To this end, the object of study was approached epistemologically based on the interpretive humanist paradigm of the hermeneutic method. We used the unstructured interview as technique and the interview script as an information gathering tool. The processing was under the categorizing, structuring, contrasting, and theorizing, stages of the research process with a qualitative approach. Among the findings is that key informants believe that knowledge must be produced in the university and that teachers and students should be able to generate, interpret, critique, and propose alternatives. A university education has no meaning if it does not produce knowledge, that is, if it does not investigate.
