O Espaço Disciplinar do Espanhol (EDE) no Brasil

    In this paper, we problematize the history of teaching and research of Spanish language in Brazil, in the light of the concept of Field by Pierre Bourdieu (1983). We call Disciplinary Area of Spanish (DAS), the sphere of knowledge productions about the Spanish language at the universities in the country, and we review its historical formation, considering the place of this language in its relations with the university, schools and educational laws. Then, we describe the recent movements which make more complex the DAS, that is, which deepen its disciplinary identity in the field of linguistic and educational studies, such as: the development of research lines about the linguistic functioning; the presence of Pan-Hispanic linguistic policy in the country, and the approval of the Law 11.161/2005. This leads us to reflect about the possibilities of circulation of knowledge production of DAS in a context of public investments retraction, universities crisis and teaching reform.

    Neste artigo, problematizamos a história do ensino e da pesquisa em língua espanhola no Brasil a partir do conceito de campo em Pierre Bourdieu (1983). Denominamos espaço disciplinar do espanhol (EDE) a esfera de produção de conhecimentos sobre a língua espanhola em âmbito acadêmico e universitário no país e retomamos sua formação histórica, considerando o lugar dessa língua em suas relações com a universidade, a escola e a legislação educacional. Em seguida, descrevemos movimentos recentes que complexificam o EDE, ou seja, aprofundam sua identidade disciplinar no campo dos estudos linguísticos e educativos, a saber: o desenvolvimento de linhas de pesquisa voltadas ao funcionamento linguístico; a presença da política linguística pan-hispânica no país; e a aprovação da Lei 11.161/2005. Isso nos leva a refletir sobre as possibilidades de circulação do conhecimento produzido no EDE em um contexto de retraimento do investimento público em educação, crise da universidade e reforma do ensino.
