Resumen de Mulheres cativas nas Minas oitocentistas: experiências de liberdade

In this article there will be highlighted some crimes perpetrated by slave women from the province of Minas Gerais in the second half of the 19th century, as well as their demands, together with the justice, in an attempt to achieve f reedom. These experiences underline how these women subverted the images of simple passive assistants facing the violence of the captivity and produced, from their political practices, abolitionist effects, weakening the institution of slavery.

No presente artigo destacamos alguns crimes perpetrados por cativas da província de Minas Gerais, na segunda metade do século XIX, bem como suas demandas, junto à justiça, na tentativa de alcançar a liberdade. Experiencias que sublinham como estas mulheres subverteram as imagens de simples coadjuvantes passivas ante a violência do cativeiro e produziram, a partir de suas práticas políticas, efeitos abolicionistas, enfraquecendo a instituição da escravidão.
