The purpose of this article is to analyze the conflicts between whites, blacks freed slaves and mestizos effective on Goiás in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The implantation of colonization in a place far from the coast led to a situation where the Christian - European cultural practices considered "civilized" found themselves threatened by the customs of the segments considered uncivilized, as was the case of blacks and mestizos

O objetivo deste artigo é analisar as relações étnico raciais entre os brancos, negros escravos e mestiços libertos vigentes em Goiás nos séculos XVIII e XIX. A implantação da colonização num distante do litoral acarretou uma situação em que as práticas culturais cristã-europeias consideradas “civilizadas” se viram ameaçadas pelos costumes dos segmentos considerados incivilizados, como era o caso dos negros e mestiços
