  Actualmente se dispone de técnicas serológicas como herramienta para el diagnóstico de enfermedades infecciosas. Estas técnicas generalmente están basadas en la detección de anticuerpos IgG e IgM. Sin embargo, poco se sabe y aplica el Test de Avidez en el diagnóstico de la primoinfección de enfermedades infecciosas.   Serological techniques are now available as a tool for the diagnosis of infectious diseases. These techniques are generally based on the detection of IgG and IgM antibodies. However, little is known and applied the Avidity Test in the diagnosis of the first infection of infectious diseases. This article refers to the avidity test, from definition, foundation and application in the diagnosis of infectious diseases such as Toxoplasmosis, Cytomegalovirus, Rubella, Parvovirus B19, Hepatitis C virus, Epstein barr, Toxocariosis.
