  • Resumen
    • "Environmental regulations get in the way of mining, but the key is not to battle. They are not going away. It's best to navigate the regulatory maze rather than hope that complying won't be necessary," [Greg Haunschild] said.

"The most important thing for someone from a mining company is to positively engage with the community. Someone from the company who is personable needs to openly make a statement about the company's commitments to the environment and there needs to be a face leading that," Haunschild told IM.

"Of course, some people have their environmental perspective and won't have their minds changed. However, some of the campaigns are hypocritical. The fact of the matter is that many campaigners live in houses, they reap the benefits of mining, but much of these arguments are based on Not In My Back Yard (NIMBY) attitudes," Haunschild told IM.
