Resumen de El Golfo de Fonseca: conflictos jurídicos, acuerdos políticos y la necesidad de construir la comunidad del Golfo

Este año se cumplen 100 años de la importante sentencia pronunciada por la Corte de Justicia Centroamericana en el caso conocido como Bryan-Chamorro, por la suscripción de un Tratado entre Nicaragua y Estados Unidos en el que Nicaragua concedía a perpetuidad al Gobierno de Estados Unidos, libre en todo tiempo de toda tasa o cualquier otro impuesto público, los derechos exclusivos y propietarios, necesarios y convenientes para la construcción, operación y mantenimiento de un canal interoceánico por la vía del río San Juan el Gran Lago de Nicaragua, o por cualquier ruta sobre el territorio de Nicaragua, y arrendaba costas nicaragüenses del Golfo de Fonseca para la operatividad de una base naval de Estados Unidos, siendo esta última cuestión el objeto principal de la demanda hecha por la República de El Salvador en contra de la República de Nicaragua, ante la Corte de Justicia Centroamericana.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the important judgment pronounced by the Central American Court of Justice in the case known as Bryan-Chamorro, for the signing of a Treaty between Nicaragua and the United States in which Nicaragua granted the Government of the United States in perpetuity, free at all times of any tax or any other public tax, exclusive and proprietary rights, necessary and convenient for the construction, operation and maintenance of an interoceanic canal by way of the San Juan River or Gran Lago de Nicaragua, or by any route on the territory of Nicaragua and leased Nicaraguan coasts from the Gulf of Fonseca for the operation of a naval base of the United States, the latter being the principal object of the claim made by the Republic of El Salvador against the Republic of Nicaragua, before the Central American Court of Justice.

Cette année marque le 100e anniversaire de l’important jugement prononcé par la Cour de justice d’Amérique Centrale dans l'affaire Bryan-Chamorro pour la signature d'un Traité entre le Nicaragua et les États-Unis, dans lequel le Nicaragua a accordé à perpétuité au gouvernement des États-Unis, libre en tout temps de toute taxe ou de tout impôt, les droits exclusifs et nécessaires pour la construction, l'exploitation et l'entretien d'un canal interocéanique par le fleuve San Juan ou le Grand Lac de Nicaragua, ou par n'importe quel itinéraire sur le territoire du Nicaragua, et a loué une partie des côtes nicaraguayennes du golfe de Fonseca pour l'exploitation d'une base navale des États-Unis, cette dernière étant l'objet principal de la réclamation formulée par la République du Salvador contre la République du Nicaragua devant la Cour de justice d'Amérique centrale.
