    This article is a reflection on the role played by Pernambuco Masons, upon the 1930 Revolution discussing their strategies, institutions, while detailing how they forwarded the movement by the foundation of lodges and libraries thus fostering public debate. and strenghtening their positions in the political and intellectual scene in Pernambuco, Brazil, in the 1930’s and 40’s and its connections with the rest of Brazil and the world.

    O presente artigo procura realizar uma reflexão sobre o lugar assumido pelos maçons pernambucanos, frente à Revolução de 1930 discutindo as suas estratégias enquanto, instituição, percebendo como as suas posições frente ao movimento e suas ações na fundação de lojas e bibliotecas fomentaram o debate público e demarcaram as suas posições no cenário político-intelectual das décadas de 1930-40 em Pernambuco e as suas conexões com o Brasil e o mundo.
