Las selvas, los campos y las ciudades constituyen tres ejes conceptuales de la reflexión viquiana, que le permiten descubrir estructuras y construir secuencias de desarrollo de la historia de la civilización, además de delinear imágenes de lo humano cargadas de connotaciones psicológicas y axiológicas. Estos tres motivos temáticos abren una original e interesante perspectiva de investigación ¿ejemplificada en este artículo en el estudio concreto del Diritto universale ¿ para releer la obra de Vico y reinterpretar sus nudos problemáticos esenciales y sus conclusiones teóricas más relevantes.

The jungle, fields and the cities are three conceptual axes of the Vichian reflection which may be used to find out structures and to arrange sequences in the history of the development of civilizations. Besides, they are capable of casting as well images of the human furnished with psychological and axiological connotations. These three thematic motives open both an original and interesting perspective of enquiry which in this particular paper is focused in the Diritto universale in order to re-read Vico's work and to re-interpret his most problematic fundamental knots together with his most relevant theoretical conclusions.
