In a great many examples from the early pioneering days through to contemporary digital (video-/Internet-) productions - in the most diverse genres and countries, and in both independent and commercial contexts - intertitles and writing in the tradition of intertitles are integrated into film in such a way that the effect is by no means rigid and un-filmic, but rather, constitutes a medium that reaches far beyond what is commonly expected from writing, and writing in film.
