  • Resumen
    • This paper is written from the starting point of explaning two classes of print that are abnormal in the history of printmaking. It attempts to show that the explanation lies in the fact that they were not produced by professional printmarkers but by two different classes of metalworkers, active in the applied arts. THey used their profesional practices of enamelling or silversmithing to make prints that were intended for use by their fellow professionals. Their products fall into th class of what are now known in the literature on print history as ornament prints. The article includes a brief introduction to the nature and functions of this tupe of printmaking and descriptions of how the techniques of those working primarily as metalworkers are visible in the prints they produced.
