    El Museo Arqueológico Nacional conserva diversas copias de pinturas murales realizadas por el pintor y restaurador-conservador don Elías de Segura y Zabarte en el primer tercio del siglo xx. La finalidad de estas líneas es remontarnos al momento preciso en que fueron encargadas y aportar información inédita que permitirá conocer la ubicación de las pinturas murales originales que las motivaron, así como agruparlas con otras copias de características similares que se conservan dispersas, algunas en el Museo del Prado, sin haberse establecido hasta el momento ningún tipo de relación entre ellas.

    Mediante esta investigación, abriremos a su vez un capítulo de la historia de la conservación y restauración de nuestro país, dando a conocer nombres propios que contribuyeron a la conservación del patrimonio artístico pictórico en España.

    The Museo Arqueológico Nacional preserves several copies of wall paintings made by the painter and restorer Mr. Elías de Segura and Zabarte during the first third of the 20th century. The purpose of this paper is to go back to that very moment when they were commissioned and provide unpublished information that will allow us to know the location of the original murals which inspired them, as well as to relate all of these copies to other ones of similar characteristics that remain scattered, some of them in the Prado Museum, without having established any relationship between them so far.

    By means of this research, we will open a chapter in the history of the art work conservation and restoration in our country, taking out of their anonymity proper names that contributed to the conservation of the pictorial artistic heritage in Spain.
