Dora d’Istria, de origen albanesa, es la única mujer representante de la literatura albanesa en el mundo europeo del siglo XIX. Aunque no sabía albanés, conocía bien su país de origen, su cultura y forma parte del grupo de los escritores albaneses que desarrollaron su literatura al extranjero convirtiendo a la literatura albanesa del momento en europeísta. Su contribución como escritora romántica, investigadora cultural y activista feminista alcanzó a la mayor parte de los países occidentales europeos, también a España. El estudio intenta alcanzar la mirada cosmopolita del mundo en los libros y artículos de la escritora, identificar su vital actividad en la emancipación de la mujer albanesa y europea, además del gran esfuerzo que hizo para presentarle al mundo europeo su país de origen.

Dora d'Istria, of Albanian origin, is the only woman representative of the Albanian literature in the European literature of the 19th century. Although she did not know Albanian language, she was well acquainted with her country of origin, his culture and is part of the group of Albanian writers who wrote and developed his literature abroad, converting the Albanian literature of that moment to European. Her contribution as a romantic writer, cultural researcher and feminist activist reached the majority of the Western European countries, Spain included. The study tries to elevate the cosmopolitan view of the world in the books and articles of the writer, identify her vital activity in the emancipation of the women, in addition to the great effort she made to present her country of origin to European world.
