    En los últimos meses han comenzado las rondas de negociaciones sobre el Brexit y el Parlamento británico emprendió el desmantelamiento de la legislación europea con la aprobación de la Repeal Bill. Cuanto antes se llegue a un acuerdo sobre los principios de la retirada ordenada en las diferentes áreas —y sobre las condiciones de un posible período de transición solicitado por el RU – se podrá a entablar un debate constructivo sobre la futura relación con el RU. Durante las tres primeras rondas de negociaciones y la preparación de la cuarta, las posiciones de las partes han comenzado a explicitarse. La UE comparte el objetivo de establecer una asociación ambiciosa para el futuro. El hecho de que el Gobierno del RU reconozca que salir de la UE significa que no puede mantener todos los beneficios de la adhesión con menos obligaciones que los demás Estados miembros ha sido bien acogido por parte de la UE. En cualquier caso, la relación futura deberá basarse en un equilibrio de derechos y obligaciones. Tendrá que respetar la integridad del ordenamiento jurídico de la Unión y la autonomía de su toma de decisiones. La UE y el RU deberán seguir insistiendo en un progreso suficiente en los ámbitos clave de la retirada ordenada del Reino Unido antes de iniciar los debates sobre la futura relación. El acuerdo sobre los principios esenciales en estas áreas creará la confianza que se necesita para construir una relación futura juntos

    In recent months negotiations have begun on the Brexit and the British Parliament began to dismantle European legislation with the approval of the Repeal Bill. The sooner we reach an agreement on the principles of the orderly withdrawal in the different areas — and on the conditions of a possible transition period requested by the United Kingdom —may be held to engage in a constructive discussion on the future relationship. During the first three rounds of negotiations and the preparation of the fourth, the parties» positions have begun to be made explicit. The EU shares the goal of establishing an ambitious partnership for the future. The fact that the government of the UK recognises that leaving the EU means that it cannot keep all the benefits of membership with fewer obligations than the other Member States has been welcomed by the EU. In any case, the future relationship will need to be based on a balance of rights a n d obligations. It will need to respect the integrity of the Union’s legal order and the autonomy of its decision–making. The EU and the UK should continue to sufficient progress in the key areas of the orderly withdrawal of the United Kingdom before opening d i s c u s s i o n s o n t h e f u t u r e relationship. Agreeing on the essential principles in these areas will create the trust t h a t i s needed for us to build a future relationship together.
