On 3-d strains in a thin coat of a plane domain

  • The equations of the theory of elasticity are applied to the case of a thin coat of a finite plane domain. Here the coordinates of the vector of displacements are supposed to be linear with respect to z-coordinate of the corresponding point of the coat. The boundary problem is formulated. The examples demonstrate the solutions of the problem. The problem can be treated as the boundary value problem for the “soft” elastic layer of a “sandwich” structure.
