Una aproximación al cuidado del paciente a través del arte

    En este trabajo se trata de reflexionar sobre el sujeto cuando enferma y sobre la necesidad de reclamar su presencia como ser autónomo en el entorno sanitario donde parece que el avance de la ciencia y la tecnología lo excluye creando barreras cada vez mayores entre profesionales y pacientes.

    L’intrus, la obra que Jean-Luc Nancy empezará a escribir en el año 2000, será el punto de partida y núcleo generador de esta reflexión. Básicamente sería la exploración de tres extrañamientos.

    En el inicio se relaciona la experiencia del corazón trasplantado que recibe Nancy con la vivencia de la maternidad, concretamente del parto. Se establece así un cierto paralelismo con el embarazo donde un nuevo ser habita y es ajeno a la persona que “ocupa”. Se trata de un extrañamiento de fuera adentro, el corazón del filósofo y del extrañamiento de dentro afuera, el bebé.

    En la segunda parte se explora el cuidado de sí, cuando uno tiene conciencia de sí mismo y es capaz de relacionarse con el otro. Esta fase es donde se pone en marcha el mecanismo del cuidado, se produce una relación de confianza y acogimiento entre paciente y sanitario. El extrañamiento sería, simbólicamente, esa primera percepción de sí mismo como alguien a conocer.

    Y una tercera parte final será observar el Hospital como un espacio donde todas las personas que lo habitan desarrollan una semántica propia con unos códigos que condicionan, a su vez, las relaciones interpersonales y sus roles. En esta fase se manifiesta el tercer extrañamiento, el paciente se percibe como un cuerpo extraño dentro del hospital.

    El Arte con su peculiar dinámica para generar conceptos o ideas a través de imágenes y su lenguaje servirá como elemento conductor a estas propuestas.

    In this work, it is a matter of reflecting on the subject when he is ill and on the need to claim his presence as an autonomous being in the healthcare environment where the advancement of science and technology seems to exclude him, creating ever greater barriers between professionals and patients. L’intrus, the work that Jean-Luc Nancy will begin to write in the year 2000, will be the starting point and nucleus of this reflection.

    Basically it would be the exploration of three estrangements.

    In the beginning, the experience of the transplanted heart that Nancy receives with the experience of motherhood, specifically of childbirth, is related. This establishes a certain parallelism with pregnancy where a new being inhabits and is alien to the person who “occupies”. It is an estrangement from outside in, the heart of the philosopher and the estrangement from the inside out, the baby. In the second part, self-care is explored, when one is aware of oneself and is able to relate to the other. This phase is where the mechanism of care is set in motion, a relationship of trust and acceptance between the patient and the healthcare worker. The estrangement would be, symbolically, that first perception of oneself as someone to know.

    And a final third part will be to observe the Hospital as a space where all the people who inhabit it develop their own semantics with some codes that condition, in turn, the interpersonal relationships and their roles. In this phase the third estrangement is manifested, the patient is perceived as a foreign body inside the hospital. Art with its peculiar dynamic to generate concepts or ideas through images and its language will serve as a driving element to these proposals.
