On the basis of the clues inferable from the current bibliography and some archival documents so far unnoticed, this is an attempt to reconstruct the circumstances of the loss of ff. 115-116 of the palimpsest manuscript Milano, Biblioteca Ambrosiana, L 120 sup., concisely reported by J.-M. Sauget («MAL» 29/5, 1987).
