  Este trabajo historiográfico describe y analiza la formación del espacio y término de la villa de Almonte desde principios del siglo XIV hasta finales del XVI; desde los inicios de repoblación cristiana de este espacio de frontera hasta la plena consolidación de su perfil territorial, tal como hoy lo conocemos. Son siglos donde avanza la repoblación del lugar no sin conflictos territoriales y políticos anexos con los lugares comarcanos, también en la expansión repobladora,pero bajo linajes señoriales distintos y pujantes cuyas relaciones de afecto y desafecto con la Corona reinante inclinaba los favores. La peculiaridad de Almonte en este último sentido, sobresale de otros casos comunes al coincidir y compartir su solar durante casi todo el siglo XV dos poderosas élites nobiliarias, como eran los Guzmanes de Sanlúcar y los Núñez de Guzmán de Sevilla. De esta historia conflictiva nace una comunidad local con un carácter social reticente o beligerante con cualquier institución de poder.

  This historiographic essay describes and analyses how the area and the population of Almonte district were formed from the beginnimg of the 14th century to the 16th century, that is, from the beginning of the Christian resettlement of this bordering area to the full consolidation of this territorial profile, as it is known now. Those were centurieswhen the resettlement of that area was advancing, not only with territorial and political conflictswith regional villageswhich were also in repopulating expansion, but they also had different thriving seignorial lineages that gained or lost favous depending on the sympathies or hostilities for the reigning Crown. In that sense, one particular characteristic of Almonte sets it apart from other places with common features, as Almonte has shared its piece of land with two powerful titled elites, Los Guzmanes from Sanlúcar and Los Núñez de Guzmán from Sevilla, for almost the entire 15th Century. A local community with reluctant and warring leanings towards any powerful institution sprang from this controversial story.
