La Concordia (1624) es un acta notarial redactada entre la villa de Alcañiz y los entonces barrios de Valdealgorfa, Valjunquera, La Codoñera y Torrecilla (Teruel). Su objetivo es determinar una serie de normas de convivencia entre ellos. Este documento ofrece una buena oportunidad para observar los rasgos lingüísticos del habla de esta zona del Bajo Aragón a principios del siglo XVII. A pesar de que la castellanización de Aragón se desarrolló de manera decisiva a finales del siglo XV, todavía pueden documentarse en la Concordia huellas del aragonés medieval, sobre todo en lo que concierne al léxico, aunque también es posible registrar otros rasgos lingüísticos de raigambre aragonesa correspondientes a los niveles gráfico, fonético-fonológico y sintáctico. Asimismo, desde un punto de vista general de la lengua española, se destacarán ciertas peculiaridades quizá más sorprendentes, que derivan de su localización y datación.

The Concordia (1624) is an affidavit composed between the town of Alcañiz and the villages of Valdealgorfa, Valjunquera, La Codoñera y Torrecilla (Teruel). Its aim is to establish certain social and behavioral rules among them. This document offers a good opportunity to analyse the Bajo Aragón’s linguistic features at the beginning of the 17th century. Despite castilianazation of Aragón flourished at the end of the 15th century, it is possible to recognize some vestiges of medieval Aragonese in the Concordia, mainly in the vocabulary. The influence of the old medieval Aragonese can also be observed in other linguistic dimensions: graphical, phoneticphonological and syntactical. Additionally, from a general point of view of the Spanish language, some unusual linguistic features will be highlighted taking into account its location and dating.
